The Assam government will appoint a large number of eligible persons in government colleges in Assam before May 2022. The decision was taken by the government at a cabinet meeting held in Guwahati on January 12, 2022. This was stated by Assam Cabinet Minister Keshab Mahanta in a press conference after the cabinet meeting.
A total of 1500 posts of government colleges will be filled up in this recruitment drive. Of these, 743 are Assistant Professors, 233 are Grade III and 524 are Grade IV posts.
Some of these posts are already vacant and some are newly created posts. The government has directed the education department to complete the recruitment process before May 2022. Gazette notices for filling up these posts in colleges are expected soon.
