Medicines and Healthcare products regulatory agency (MHRA) In the UK approved the world’s first-ever oral antiviral against covid-19. The antiviral drug is known as – Molunpiravir.
According to MHRA, Molunpiravir is safe and effective at reducing the risk of hospitalization and death in people with mild to moderate symptoms of Covid-19.
Molnupiravir, a pill that can be taken twice daily at home, is due for delivery from mid-November and will be prioritised to elderly Covid patients and those with particular vulnerabilities, such as weakened immune systems.
