Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been awarded the prestigious ‘Legion of Merit’ award by US President Donald Trump among the highest military honors in the US. This is the first time that an Indian Prime Minister has received this prestigious honor of America. Legion of Merit is one of America’s most respected awards, given to the head of a country or government.
India’s Ambassador to America Taranjit Singh Sandhu accepted the award in Washington on behalf of the Prime Minister. He was presented the award by US National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien at the White House on Monday.
On being elected to the honor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi (Narendra Modi) thanked the US President and said that this honor is a recognition of the efforts of the people of India and America to improve relations between the two countries.
