DG-level talks between Border Security Force and Border Guard Bangladesh initiated in Guwahati

The 51st DG-level talks between the Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) began in Guwahati on Tuesday. This is the first time that the bi-annual Director General (DG) level talks between the two border guarding forces is taking place in Assam.

Rakesh Asthana, Director-General of BSF is leading the BSF in the talk. On the other hand, Maj Gen Shafeenul Islam, Director General of BGB is leading the Border Guard Bangladesh. They will discuss various aspects and issues related to border management.

They will also deliberate upon steps being taken to strengthen the security grid in a cohesive manner for the betterment of people living on the borders of both the neighbouring countries.

The meeting will conclude with the signing of a joint record of discussions by both the Directors General of the BSF and the BGB.
